Moonlight Peaks: Complete Farm Animals Guide
In her downtime, Kaitlyn enjoys unwinding with her favorite horror films, despite being a major scaredy-cat.
While harvesting crops is a major part of any farming game, a farm isn't complete without a barn and some animals, even in Moonlight Peaks. Of course, like your magical crops, the animals in Moonlight Peaks are a little different than your average farm animal.
That said, they'll still serve the same purpose as real farm animals by providing you with things like eggs, milk, and wool. However, you won't be able to do any of this without a barn, so that should be first on your list.
This guide is still a work in progress and will continue to be updated as we progress through the game.
How To Get A Barn And Farm Animals
As mentioned, you can't have farm animals without a place to feed them, and that's exactly what the barn is for. Each barn can hold up to four farm animals at a time, and you can sell them to swap them out at any point.
Your livestock will also produce fertilizer that can be collected in the barn and used when planting new crops.
Barns are purchased from Ridge at the Howling Hammer for 4,000 gold, and they'll take about a day to build. You won't be able to purchase one until Luna has introduced you to the idea of having farm animals, at which point your next quest objective will be to purchase a barn.
Once you've bought a single barn, you're welcome to purchase another at any point in the game as long as the shop is open. Once the barn is fully built, you can head back to Luna and purchase your first farm animal, a Cheeken. Luna will not sell any livestock to you until the barn is built.
While you can upgrade your house to expand it, you unfortunately cannot do the same for your barn, so you will need to purchase more than one to have one of every farm animal in the game. That said, you can at least customize them by talking to Ridge.
How To Make Fodder
After you buy your first animal, Luna will give you the option to name it, and then it will be delivered to your barn. At this point, you must make Fodder, which is used to feed all your farm animals each day. To make it, you'll need Fiber, which you get by using the Scythe tool on bushes and weeds, and a Refiner.
If you don't have a Refiner, the blueprint is unlocked after the quest where Ridge helps you repair your roof. You'll find it under the Tools tab on your construction table, and it will require 20 Wood and 20 Stone to craft.
- Wood — Collected by chopping trees and logs.
- Stone — Collected using your pickaxe on rocks.
Once it's built, every Fiber you put in will produce two bags of Fodder, so I highly recommend making as much as you can so you don't have to make more. When it's ready, take the Fodder inside the barn and fill the feeding trough.
All Farm Animals In Moonlight Peaks
All livestock are purchased from Luna, and she will have three available at her barn each day. If you don't see what you're looking for, come back tomorrow.
Additionally, if it matters to you, the livestock do have several color patterns. For example, there are Cowcula's with spots and some without, so if you'd like a specific variant of a farm animal so they're not all the same, you'll also need to come back each day to check for that.
