A Touch of Magic is a main story quest in Moonlight Peaks, where the witches of the town challenge you to complete three magical challenges to prove you have the ability to enter their coven.

The list of tasks assigned to you can only be completed using magic. They are using a spell to grow a crop, using a spell to make it rain, and using a spell to move your house. Here’s how to do it.

After Mend it with Magic is completed, wait a few days, and a letter will arrive in the mail titled “The Coven’s Calling,” where Fiona, the head witch of the Moonlit Coven, will invite you to prove your mastery of magic in order to join the coven by completing a series of tasks.

  • Use a spell to grow a crop.
  • Use a spell to make it rain.
  • Use a spell to move your house.

  • Visit the Crest Garden

Use a Spell to Grow a Crop

  • Spell: Maturio (Instantly grow crops to maturity in a 1x1, 2x2, or 3x3 area)

The Maturio category of spells makes it so that you can instantly grow any crop from its initial phase of growth to its final form, where it is ready for harvest in an instant. The higher the tier of the spell, the larger area of farmland it can cover with a single cast. The mana cost remains the same throughout.

For this quest, only Maturio I is required. All you need to do to cast it is to equip your fixed wand, cast a spell, and use the correct gestures (you can check the gestures from the Almanac).

After the spell is cast, select any plot of farmland where a seed has been planted, and that crop will grow to full maturity in an instant. However, do note that the Maturio spells don’t work on trees.

Since which crop you use for this experiment doesn’t matter, we recommend casting it on one that takes a long time to reach maturity the traditional way, so that you earn some Coins as well. Crops like Sweet Wicca (13 days), Sunburst (9 days), and Pumpkin (9 days) are some good options.

Use a Spell to Make it Rain

  • Spell: Tomorrow’s Tears (Make it rain the next night)

The Tomorrow’s Tears spell makes it so that it is guaranteed to rain on the night after the one you cast it. While it doesn’t immediately summon rainclouds, the effect it does have is enough to satisfy the witches.

Use a Spell to Move Your House

  • Spell: Hoisthaven (Magically move a building)

The Hoisthaven spell allows you to move buildings in your farm, which includes your house as well as structures like Barns and Mills. The only requirement is that you have enough space cleared in your base for the relocation to go safely. If there are any growths, like trees or rocks, that are in the way, the spell will fail.

To complete this quest, all you have to do is move any building on your farm to a different tile. Even though the quest requirement says that you need to move your house, any building will do.

Visit the Crest Garden

After you complete all three objectives, sleep in your coffin to pass the night. The next night, Fiona will approach you when you exit the house, asking you to visit the Crest Garden tomorrow.

Follow Fiona’s instructions and go to the Crest Garden on the appointed day. When you enter, a cutscene will trigger where Fiona, Noel, Luna, and Sabrina will gather, and Laveau, your mother, will be summoned. Fiona will then formally induct you into the Moonlit Witch Coven and restore the Webb Crest in the Crest Garden.
