Ubisoft has celebrated the launch of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced by confirming that Rayman Legends Retold will bring back the Edward Kenway costume, only this time it has weirdly detailed fingernails.

I might be a little biased here, but Rayman undoubtedly has one of the most iconic designs in all of gaming. I mean, he's clearly doing something right, considering his complete lack of limbs hasn't stopped him from being instantly recognisable. Even with that in mind, Rayman Legends Retold has somewhat controversially redesigned Rayman to make him more realistic than ever.

As of Legends Retold, Rayman's eyes are no longer split like a cartoon character, his hoodie and shoes are more detailed than ever, and his bangs actually look like hair instead of big yellow noodles. It's fair to say that Ubisoft is trying to make Rayman more realistic than before, and that's never been clearer than with a new screenshot that confirms he has fingernails for the first time.

Rayman Legends Retold Has Gone Too Far And Given Rayman Fingernails

I Dread To Think What Rayomz Will Look Like

One of the most iconic parts of Rayman's design are his trademark cartoon character white gloves, which he wears as part of his default outfit in nearly every game in the franchise. The few times that we've seen Rayman take off his gloves, such as pre-release art for Raving Rabbids and his fingerless gloves look in Adventures, have shown off some pretty basic and undetailed hands.

Well, that's no longer the case, and the world is worse for it. To celebrate the launch of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, the official Rayman account confirmed that the original game's Edward Kenway skin is returning in Legends Retold. Ignoring the fact that this confirms crossover skins are still a thing, the screenshots shared had a very noticeable detail.

As I've made pretty clear by now, Rayman now has fully detailed fingernails on his hands, instead of smooth cartoon ham hocks like we're used to. It's a very small detail in the grand scheme of things and one that will only be noticeable with a few skins, but it is there, and if I have to notice it from now on, then so do you.

Considering Rayomz is completely naked and confirmed to be in the game through some development footage, I don't even want to know how detailed he's going to be.

I'm not the only one who's spotted the limbless wonder's surprisingly well-kept nails, either, as many of the comments underneath the post are pointing out how far Rayman's realistic redesign has come. Some actually like the fingernails, but I won't pretend for a second that I'm one of them. I can handle split eyes, but this is just creeping me out.
