Indian Army taps Zoho for indigenous digital transformation under JAI mission
The Indian Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zoho Corporation to strengthen its digital transformation efforts under India's Jointness, Atmanirbharta and Innovation (JAI) mission.

The agreement was signed by Lieutenant General Harsh Chhibber, Director General Information Systems (DGIS), and Rajendran Dandapani, Director of Engineering at Zoho Corporation. The signing took place in the presence of Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu.

Under the partnership, the Indian Army and Zoho
will work together on application-based research and development to create digital solutions and help improve the technology skills of Army personnel. The collaboration is expected to help the Army develop technologies that can be directly used in its operations.

"The partnership aims to foster application-oriented research & development, develop secure and sustainable digital solutions and enhance technology-driven skill sets within the Indian Army, accelerating its transformation into a future-ready, digitally empowered force," Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) of the MoD wrote on X.
What is JAI Mission

Under the JAI mission, the Army is focusing on working more closely with other armed forces and security agencies (Jointness), using more India-made technology and equipment instead of relying on imports (Atmanirbharta), and adopting new technologies and ideas to improve its capabilities (Innovation).

On Monday, Dwivedi visited the Trinity area to review the operational and administrative preparedness of security forces deployed there. Officials briefed him on the measures being taken to strengthen security arrangements and improve logistics support in the region.

The Army Chief interacted with personnel from the Indian Army and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and praised them for their professionalism and hard work.

"He appreciated the seamless synergy between the forces and underscored the importance of jointness and military-civil fusion in the evolving security environment," wrote ADG PI on X.
