New leak reveals more about Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2

Samsung's next premium smartwatch might exist at the expense of another one in its lineup.

That's according to Samsung leaker GalaxyTechie on X, anyway. The original post seems to be gone, but it's been archived by AndroidCentral, and it indicates Samsung will not release a new Galaxy Watch 9 Classic this year, instead focusing on a more premium Galaxy Watch Ultra that incorporates some Classic features. The new Ultra is said to have Classic-esque numbers on the watch face, a more boxy look, a thinner bezel, and improved side buttons.

One thing this leak doesn't say is whether the new Galaxy Watch Ultra will come with a rotating bezel, something Samsung included on some watch models in years past. In general, it sounds like Samsung will combine some of the things people liked about the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic last year with the high-end features of the Ultra. Of course, both the rumored Galaxy Watch 9 and the new Ultra will most likely come with plenty of new watch faces and band colors, as well.

As for when we'll find out whether or not any of this is true, we probably won't have to wait long. Samsung's next big Unpacked event is supposedly happening in London in late July. According to all available rumors and leaks, the new watches will be there alongside a new lineup of foldable phones.
