CEAT to invest ₹1,205 crore to expand two-wheeler tyre capacity by FY31

New Delhi: CEAT on Thursday announced a proposed investment of approximately ₹1,205 crore to ramp up its two-wheeler tyre manufacturing capacity by around 66 per cent. The proposed investment will be funded through a combination of internal accruals and debt, according to a regulatory filing.

The Mumbai-headquartered firm currently manufactures about 80,000 tyres a day and plans to increase its capacity to 1,33,000 tyres per day by FY2031 by adding 53,000 tyres of daily production capacity, stated the filing. The company’s existing capacity is nearly fully utilised to 95 per cent.

CEAT currently operates six manufacturing plants across India located in Halol (Gujarat), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Nashik (Maharashtra), Ambernath (Maharashtra), Bhandup (Mumbai), and Chennai (Tamil Nadu), with Nagpur and Chennai plants dedicated to two-wheeler tyres manufacturing.

CEAT on Thursday reported a growth of 22 per cent in revenue to ₹4,318 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026. The tyre manufacturer's net profit fell to ₹4 crore amid higher raw material costs.
