MAN Reports 8% Growth in First-Half 2026 Sales; Electric Vehicles Up 37%

MAN Truck & Bus reported an 8% year-on-year increase in global unit sales during the first half of 2026, selling around 51,000 vehicles. The total comprised approximately 32,000 trucks (+10%), around 3,300 buses (+2%) and just under 16,000 vans (+6%). The company’s engine business also recorded strong growth, rising 17% to nearly 6,000 units.

While demand strengthened across many European markets, Germany – traditionally one of MAN’s most important markets – remained below the broader regional growth trend. The company’s fully electric vehicle business delivered particularly strong performance, with unit sales rising 37% to around 1,100 vehicles, including approximately 600 eTrucks and more than 500 eBuses.

“The sales trend shows that our broad product range is holding its own in a challenging market environment. At the same time, battery-electric vehicles are becoming increasingly important to our customers,” said Friedrich Baumann, Executive Board Member for Sales & Customer Solutions at MAN.

Completing the Battery-Electric Truck Portfolio

During the second half of the year, MAN will focus on expanding its battery-electric vehicle range with new models for urban distribution, regional transport and coach applications. The company’s electric truck portfolio will then cover the entire spectrum, from light-duty distribution trucks to heavy-duty long-haul tractor units.

Depending on the operating profile, the fully electric heavy-duty eTGX and eTGS models offer driving ranges of up to 820 km, while the new eTGM delivers a range of up to 500 km for urban and regional distribution operations. MAN is also strengthening its electric bus portfolio with the launch of the MAN Lion’s Coach E. Customer deliveries are scheduled to commence by the end of the year, with the fully electric coach offering a driving range of up to 650 km.
