The organizers of Gamescom, Koelnmesse and Game - The German Games Industry Association, have agreed on a new partnership with IGN for Gamescom's "gamescom awesome indies show", expanding a long-established relationship under which IGN has served as the production partner of the official Gamescom consumer broadcast. IGN is owned by GamesIndustry.biz parent IGN Entertainment.

The 60-75-minute show is streamed live on the Thursday evening of the event, and includes a mix of world-exclusive trailer premieres, gameplay reveals, and developer interviews. This year's showcase will now include game previews, one of IGN’s most popular content formats globally. Formatted to fit the livestream format, these previews will give an objective, first-hand account of what players can expect from some of the games featured in the showcase.

IGN will also continue to power the distinctive glass cube "gamescom studio" on the show floor, broadcasting in both in English and German throughout the show, and will once again create bespoke content for Japan and China through its global teams. IGN has served as the official production partner for gamescom studio since 2019.

"We are thrilled to be expanding our partnership with game and Koelnmesse to bring even more incredible gamescom content to people around the world," said Yael Prough, President, IGN Entertainment, "and in doing so help shine a light on the creativity, innovation, and talent in the thriving indie community."

"IGN has been a trusted partner for years," said Tim Endres, Director gamescom at Koelnmesse. "We’re happy to be working with the team in this new capacity to bring a fresh, innovative approach to the gamescom awesome indies show and bring to life the exciting and groundbreaking indie games that are part of gamescom."

Stefan Heikhaus, Head of gamescom & Events at game added: “This partnership is a strong signal to the indie community. We want to evolve the gamescom awesome indies show to create more awareness of the amazing indies games that are being showcased at gamescom. We want gamescom to be the platform for people to discover the most exciting indie games.”

Editorial and sponsorship integration into the show is open to any independent developer or publisher who is exhibiting in the entertainment area, indie area, or event arena. Those interested in applying can do so here.
