Naruto: 8 Characters That Could Destroy The Moon, Ranked By Strength

The moon in Naruto was created roughly 1,000 years ago as a result of an empowered Chibaku Tensei. It was used to seal Kaguya Otsutsuki, and aside from being her prison, it functioned like an ordinary celestial body. Naruto fans have met many powerful characters over the years, and a few of them could actually destroy the moon if given the opportunity.

All Naruto characters who can realistically destroy the moon are Kage-level or higher. It would take time for some of these characters to destroy the moon with their jutsu, but others could potentially do it with a single attack. Several of these characters could even manage to do it because they wield Truth-Seeking Balls, which are God-tier level weapons.

8 Deidara Could Probably Destroy the Moon With His Kekkei Genkai

Deidara may have been the Akatsuki's youngest member, but he was still powerful enough to take down a Kage and knock out a Tailed Beast. He wielded the Explosion Release Kekkei Genkai, which gave his chakra explosive properties. Deidara usually infused this chakra into clay to create bombs of various sizes. He could even produce microscopic bombs that would disintegrate living beings on a cellular level.

Deidara could wipe out everything within a six-mile radius with C0, but he would never be able to destroy the moon with it because it is a one-time use that costs the user their life. That said, a reanimated Deidara, could destroy the moon this way by regenerating and using C0 over and over again. His C3 explosive can destroy an entire village. It would take a lot of clay and dozens of C3 bombs, but Deidara could eventually blow the moon apart.

7 Onoki Should Be Able to Destroy the Moon With Dust Release

Onoki served as the Hidden Stone Village's Third Tsuchikage for over four decades, making him one of the strongest ninja in history. He mastered Earth Release and had a tremendous amount of battle experience, and he was one of the few people who could use Dust Release. This extremely rare Kekkei Tota combined earth, wind, and fire, and it can destroy anyone as long as they cannot absorb chakra.

With Dust Release, Onoki can create three-dimensional objects made of chakra with his hands. He can shoot them at a target with incredible speed, or produce a cylindrical beam. Anything that gets caught within Dust Release is disintegrated on a molecular level. Onoki could shoot multiple cubes or spheres into the moon until there is nothing left, or he could use the beam to slice through the moon as he did with Madara's Wood Release during the Fourth Great Ninja War.

6 Toneri Otsutsuki Could Cleave the Moon in Half With His Tenseigan Chakra Mode

Toneri is the sole surviving member of the Otsutsuki Clan's branch family on the moon, and when he first revealed himself to the Ninja World, he attempted to destroy humanity for weaponizing chakra by crashing the moon into the Earth. Up until now, Toneri is the only person who has come close to actually destroying the moon. He cannot do much to the moon in his base form, but he could definitely destroy it with Tenseigan Chakra Mode.

While in this state, Toneri manifests nine Truth-Seeking Balls, which have the power to disintegrate matter. By combining these orbs into a giant golden sword of chakra, Toneri was literally able to cut the entire moon in half with a single slash. If Naruto had not stopped him, Toneri could have cut the moon into multiple pieces until it became a group of asteroids instead.

5 Madara Uchiha Could Destroy the Moon With His Rinnegan or Jinchuriki Form

The legendary Madara Uchiha obtained God-like power during the Fourth Great Ninja War when he became the Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails. He gained ten Truth-Seeking Balls, and like Toneri, he could theoretically combine them into a large weapon that could either punch a hole through the moon or cut it into pieces. Interestingly enough, Madara does not need to be a Jinchuriki to destroy the moon; he can do it with just his Rinnegan.

The Rinnegan is one of the rarest abilities in Naruto, and its Deva Path gave Madara the ability to manipulate the forces of attraction and repulsion. During the war, Madara wiped out thousands of ninja by pulling two meteorites down from space. This means he could use the Deva Path to hurl meteorites, or even asteroids, at the moon until it breaks apart.

4 Kaguya Otsutsuki Could Obliterate the Moon With Her Expansive Truth-Seeking Ball Technique

Like other members of the Otsutsuki Clan, Kaguya wielded God-like abilities, able to bboth manipulate her bone structure and travel through dimensional rifts. She could place the entire world under the effect of the Infinite Tsukuyomi, and she could instantly teleport herself and others to different dimensions. Her All-Killing Ash Bones technique might be able to disintegrate living things, but it probably couldn't do any damage to the moon.

The Expansive Truth-Seeking Ball is another of Kaguya's Kekkei Mora ninjutsu techniques, and it takes all the chakra gathered through the victims of the Infinite Tsukuyomi. This chakra produces a massive Truth-Seeking Ball which has the power to obliterate entire worlds and then reshape them. If Kaguya were to use this on the moon, there would be nothing left of it.

3 Sasuke Uchiha Could Destroy the Moon With Indra's Arrow

Sasuke reached a new level when he obtained the Rinnegan in his left eye, and he became even stronger as an adult. His power has increased to the point that he can now fight Kaguya-level threats alone. With the Susanoo, Sasuke can create a colossal samurai-like avatar that can cleave mountains in half with a single slash. If given enough time, Sasuke's Susanoo could cut its way through the moon with its swords.

Indra's Arrow is still considered the most powerful jutsu in Sasuke's arsenal, and it is an ability that arguably makes Sasuke the strongest ninja in the world. By absorbing chakra from all nine tailed beasts into his Susanoo, Sasuke can produce a massive longbow and arrow that are infused with lightning chakra. This arrow can vaporize a small region, and if Sasuke were to shoot it straight into the center of the moon, it would blow up like the Death Star in Star Wars.

When the series began, Naruto was a knucklehead with very little talent, but by the end, he became one of the strongest ninjas of all time. Like Sasuke, he can now deal with someone as strong as Kaguya himself.

As a Perfect Jinchuriki, Naruto can perform the Tailed Beast Ball, which can destroy an entire village instantly. If he really wanted to destroy the moon, all Naruto would need to do is shoot one Tailed Beast Ball after another at it until there is nothing left. If he used Six Paths Sage Mode, Naruto could use the Ultra-Big Ball Rasenshuriken to cut through the moon and blow it to pieces.

1 Hagoromo Otsutsuki Can Destroy the Moon With the Sword of Nunoboko

Hagoromo, otherwise known as the Sage of Six Paths, proves that the Otsutsuki Clan is indeed the strongest Clan in Naruto. He became the first Jinchuriki when he sealed the Ten-Tails within himself, and thanks to his ability to create life from nothing, he was able to split the monster into the nine Tailed Beasts. Thanks to the Rinnegan, he would likely be able to hurl celestial objects at the moon to destroy it.

Hagoromo could manifest up to ten Truth-Seeking Balls, and he could combine them to form the Sword of Nunoboko. This legendary holy blade looks like a double helix, and it allegedly has the power to reshape the world by destroying it first. Given the fact that this massive sword can destroy all known forms of matter, it could slice straight through the moon.
