PlayStation has randomly dropped an incredible cinematic trailer for Marvel's Wolverine that confirms the appearance of a fan-favourite X-Men villain.

Although it's pretty hard to feel excited about anything from PlayStation after its massively controversial physical release announcement a few weeks ago, the company does at least have plenty of exciting games on the horizon. One of the most anticipated of the bunch is Marvel's Wolverine, which actually isn't that far away from release.

That being said, we've seen surprisingly little of Insomniac's next Marvel game, with only a teaser, a proper reveal trailer, and most recently a gameplay walkthrough in the many years since it was announced. That's just changed out of the blue with the release of an awesome and fairly revealing cinematic trailer that's being played before screenings of The Odyssey.

Marvel's Wolverine Trailer Confirms Lady Deathstrike As A Villain

Out of nowhere, PlayStation continued to ignore the mounting backlash against it by dropping a cinematic trailer for Marvel's Wolverine, which is similar to the equally awesome ones that many of its first-party games have had. The trailer shows Wolverine ripping a bunch of enemies to shreds and crossing paths with villains like Sabretooth and The Hand.

Beyond more than living up to its cinematic namesake, the Wolverine trailer actually has a pretty interesting reveal. Towards the end, Logan is shown fighting against fan-favourite Lady Deathstrike, confirming once and for all that she's going to be one of the game's villains. This wasn't shown off in any other trailer, so it's a nice surprise to see it revealed here.

The confirmation of Lady Deathstrike proves that Marvel's Wolverine is really bringing its A-game when it comes to villains, as we already know that Sabretooth, Sentinels, The Hand, and Mystique (who will likely be an anti-hero) are all in the game. It'll be interesting to see how the game handles so many of them, especially considering this is the first taste of X-Men content in Insomniac's world.
