Kunal Shah Leaves CRED For Top Role At WhatsApp

CRED founder Kunal Shah is stepping down from day-to-day operations at the fintech unicorn to take over as the global head of Meta-owned WhatsApp.

Announcing the move in a post on X, Shah said Miten Sampat will take over as an interim CEO at the startup. 

Shah added that Meta has made an investment of $900 Mn in CRED, in a mix of primary and secondary. 

“As for me, I’ll be joining Meta to lead WhatsApp globally. Meta comes in as a minority investor in CRED. No access to member data,” he said.
