TL;DR
  • Ultrahuman has launched its M2 Live health platform that offers continuous glucose monitoring without a prescription.
  • It can also pair with the Ultrahuman Ring to provide more in-depth analysis of your metabolic health.
  • It’s priced at $129 for a sensor, or you can get a $99/month subscription.

If you’ve used continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems in the past, you know that they aren’t the most affordable or easy-to-access devices. You need prescriptions for CGM devices, and they can be quite expensive as well. Ultrahuman is now trying to solve both those problems with its new offering.

The company today launched its new Ultrahuman M2 Live platform. It integrates with Abbot’s Lingo CGM and provides metabolic insights using the glucose readings from the tracker. Using the Lingo CGM is a big deal as well, as it’s the first glucose monitor available over the counter without a prescription.

Unlike the $249/month Ultrahuman M1 Live platform, the new $99/month M2 Live service also works without an Ultrahuman device. However, pairing it with the Ultrahuman Ring will give users deeper insights into their health data. The app will use glucose data from the Lingo CGM, along with metrics from the smart ring such as heart rate variability, sleep data, stress, and more, to provide in-depth metabolic insights.

Users will get a clinically validated “Metabolic Score” ranging from 0 to 100, glucose tracking and spike detection, a “Food Score” ranging from 0 to 10 to help identify how different foods affect your blood glucose, and more.

The Ultrahuman M2 Live will be available in the US to people aged 18 or older who are not currently on insulin. It will launch in the coming weeks and will be available on the Ultrahuman website. A one-time purchase with a single sensor will set you back $129, or you can opt for a $99/month subscription that should give you two CGM sensors per month.
