Building a base is the first step to establishing your presence in the world of Palworld. Of course, in order to make the most of the limited number of bases you can have, you need to find the best spots to set up a base. After multiple playthroughs and extensive research, I can confidently share the best locations to build a base in Palworld.

Best Base Locations

There are many ways to approach building bases in Palworld. I like to establish my bases next to resources, so my Pals can passively farm them while I continue my adventure. That's the start, at least. After that, I'll just build a Quarry for each type and get my Pals to endlessly farm those ores.

These are the best base spots I found to get their materials early:

  1. First Base: 135, -445
  2. Base for Basic Ores: 290, -100
  3. Base for Hardwood and Coal: -160, -90
  4. Base for Chromite and Hexolite: -1180, -1230
  5. Base for Crude Oil: 400, -465
  6. Base for Soralite: -305, -1410

First Base

Coordinates

(135, -445)

Resources

  1. Wood
  2. Stone
  3. Paldium Fragment
  4. Berries

At the start, you only need Wood, Stone, and Paldium Fragments to build most starter buildings at the base. So, finding a wide, flat spot is crucial to establishing your first base in Palworld. I found the best spot to be at (135, -445). It's near the first Tower and has a wider collection of Pals around it compared to the starter biome. Not to mention, you can find Iron Nodes and Berries around the base, further increasing the location's value.

Base for Basic Ores

Coordinates

(290, -100)

Resources

  1. Wood
  2. Stone
  3. Iron
  4. Sulfur
  5. Pure Quartz

If there's a spot to be called the best place to put a base in Palworld, it's this one. This should be a second base location, as it grants you access to many resources, such as Iron, Sulfur, and especially Pure Quartz. The spot is also wide and flat, allowing you to build freely on top of it all. While this spot is relatively far from the starting base, it's worth the travel, as you'll gain easy access to Pure Quartz, which is a resource that you need to make Circuit Boards, which are used for almost everything afterward.

Base for Hardwood and Coal

Coordinates

(-160, -90)

Resources

  1. Hardwood
  2. Coal

Once you reach the mid-game to the endgame, many upgrades and buildings start requiring Hardwood in Palworld. This means it's necessary to find a spot to build a base and dispatch Pals that can autofarm it. I found the best spot to be in the desert, east of the Deep Bamboo Thicket biome. There, at (-160, -90), you can find multiple Coal nodes next to a forest of Hardwood trees. You can also find Iron and Sulfur in the area around the base, along with strong mid-game mining Pals, such as Digtoise and Alpha Anubis.

Base for Chromite and Hexolite

Coordinates

(-1180, -1230)

Resources

  1. Hardwood
  2. Stone
  3. Chromite
  4. Hexolite
  5. Crude Oil

Once your buildings and items start requiring Chromite and Hexolite, I found it a little disappointing that you can't find a strong spot to autofarm the two resources. Most Hexolite and Chromite nodes are barely next to each other. Not to mention, your Pals can't autofarm Chromite nodes because they can't find them unless you use the metal detector. However, it's still a decent spot that offers multiple resources, along with having an operating base at this point of the map.

Base for Crude Oil

Coordinates

(400, -465)

Resources

  1. Wood
  2. Stone
  3. Crude Oil

If you're low on Crude Oil and want to extract more, you can specify a base for that job. The best spots to build a Crude Oil base are right next to the starting area. On the eastern side, you can reach a small island that has six Crude Oil extracting spots. You can build a base to hit three of them at once, which should be enough.

Base for Soralite

Coordinates

(-305, -1410)

Resources

  1. Hardwood
  2. Soralite

Soralite is tricky to get, as it requires a Plasma Multicutter to be mined from its node. However, that only applies to your character. As for Pals, high-level mining Pals can get the job done. In my experience, almost every item in the endgame requires something to do with Soralite, so building a base near Soralite nodes is necessary to gather it passively.

The best spot to build a base is at the Sunreach floating islands, exactly at -305, 1410, where your Pals can mine up to six Soralite nodes. You can reinforce the base later with other Quarries to make it a fully automated ore mining base.
