How to Get Coralum in Palworld (2026)
Coralum is a tricky resource to get in Palworld. Unlike the vast majority of other mineral types, these are gathered by fishing up salvage in the ocean. There are no traditional mining nodes for Coralum Ore, so you'll have to get a good fishing rod or a fishing magnet if you want to get this resource. Thankfully, there are alternate methods for getting Coralum in Palworld, so if you're not interested in roaming the seas, you'll at least have two other options to fall back to.
Palworld: Coralum Locations
You can get Coralum by picking up salvage in the ocean. To do this, you'll need three things:
- An Advanced Fishing Rod
- Powerful Fishing Magnets
- A ridable Water Pal
You should already be at a point where you can comfortably make Hexolite Ingots in Palworld if you're already trying to get Coralum, but in case you skipped that tier (like I did), you'll definitely need to go back and farm some Hexolite since it's needed for so many more things down the road.
Once you have all three of the prerequisites above, ride your Water Pal and start looking for salvage floating on the ocean. In my experience, Coralum is mainly obtained by picking up salvage around Feybreak Island to the southwest. Simply ride a Pal there and unlock a waypoint for convenience. No need to fight a boss or anything else in order to reach this place.
Interacting with salvage initiates a minigame where you need to time a button press according to the circle that appears on your screen. Completing this minigame will reward you with some resources, including raw Coralum Ore. However, this will also consume a Powerful Fishing Magnet. The amount of Coralum you get may depend on your World Settings. In my case, I get about 10 Coralum Ore per salvage bundle.
Have four Jellroys in your party to significantly increase the amount of Coralum you get from salvaging.
Hunting and Breeding Whalaskas
If the fishing method is too expensive for you, try hunting some Whalaskas instead. You can find some along the southwestern shores of Feybreak Island. Some Whalaskas can also be found on the islet containing Neptilius' boss arena. Also, the Whalaska Ignis variant can also drop Coralum Ore in Palworld, but they only appear inside the World Tree.
Like other Pals, you can breed Whalaskas at your base and butcher them for materials instead of searching for Whalaskas out in the wilderness. However, this method is very slow, so unless you have advanced egg incubators in your base, you may want to try a different approach to Coralum farming.
Fishing in Your Base
Another alternative to getting Coralum Ore in Palworld is to build a Large Fishing Pond in your base. Place one of these in your base, have some Pals man it, and you should end up with Coralum Ore and a bunch of other resources. This method is also pretty slow, but at least you won't have to worry about spending time out in the open seas just to get Coralum Ore.
To use the Large Fishing Pond, you need to assign a Handiwork Pal like Solenne to it, then give your Pal some fishing bait to work with. Select the large fish silhouette option for a chance to get Whalaskas, which you can then slaughter as per usual.
