There are five types of map pieces in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, and if you bring them to the Treasure Dealer, he'll turn them into five restored treasure maps. If you'd like to get extra-special treasure, including a legendary trinket and a new outfit, this is the challenge you've been waiting for.

How to restore maps in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced contains five restorable treasure maps. Unlike regular treasure maps, you can't just pick them up and find the loot directly. The number of map pieces required and the manner of obtaining them vary for each restorable map, but they always need the Treasure Dealer's services in Great Inagua to fix them.

The Treasure Dealer becomes available after you've completed the "This Old Cove" main quest. Visit the Treasure Dealer on the Great Inagua docks and pay him 5,000 reales to unlock his services. The Treasure Dealer will show you each map type, the restoration costs, and the number of map pieces required.

How to get weathered map pieces in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

• Treasure map restoration cost: 150 spice and 500 reales
• Treasure coordinates: (914, 124)
• Reward: Persian scimitars and gargoyle's breath (pistols)

Gather a total of five weathered map pieces by looting special treasure chests in smugglers' dens, such as Anotto Bay and Ambergris Key. Look for places marked with a cave symbol on the map, then loot the largest chest within that location (special chests fall under location "secrets" rather than "chests"). To obtain the sixth and final weathered map piece, you must buy it directly from the Treasure Dealer for 200 spice. Here's where to find every weathered map piece on your map:

Once you've obtained the weathered treasure map, it'll lead you to Mystery Island in the southeast corner of the map. The treasure is buried in the pit filled with human remains, just east of the viewpoint, below the tree trunk.

How to get yellowed map pieces in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

• Treasure coordinates: (915, 617)
• Reward: Obsidian sails, helm of the night owl and "The Wellerman" shanty

Gather a total of 10 yellowed map pieces by completing trade missions with Kenway's fleet (the ones that require schooners). Beware that other types of fleet missions, like patrol and scout missions, don't reward any map pieces.

Unfortunately, the chance of obtaining a yellowed map piece alongside other trade rewards is incredibly low. To speed things up, unlock all five fleet regions (you get one trade mission per region), add five schooners to Kenway's fleet, and send them all out. When the trade missions are completed, but before checking the results, save your game — if you didn't get any yellowed map pieces, return to the save file and try again.

The restored yellowed treasure map leads to Black Island in northeast Gibara. The treasure is buried in the northeast, on the beach north of the viewpoint. Dig in the area just behind the shipwreck.

• Reward: The Shade and Shadow Robes outfit and the Wooden Eyeball trinket

Find four preserved map pieces by looting warehouses. Any warehouse can reward preserved map pieces, though you won't get one if you haven't claimed the warehouse's unique reward (its first-time clearance reward) yet. For example, if you loot the Havana warehouse for the first time, you'll always receive its unique treasure map, but if you return after the cooldown period (two hours) to loot the warehouse again, you have a chance to obtain a preserved map piece.

The restored preserved treasure map leads to Sacrifice Island, where you'll find the treasure in the northwest corner under the arched rock.

How to get tattered map pieces in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

• Treasure coordinates: (381, 803)
• Reward: Elite wheel, gilt-lined sails, and sleek crew attire

The three tattered map pieces needed to restore this treasure map are found in captain's lootboxes on pirate hunter ships. To encounter pirate hunters (recognizable by their red sails), you must raise your "wanted" level by destroying ships and fortresses. As only the largest ships contain a captain's lootbox (frigates and man-of-war), you must raise your "wanted" level to the fourth tier as shown in the picture below. Keep destroying smaller ships, including smaller pirate hunters, until you get the big prize.

Once you've spotted a large pirate hunter, defeat it in a naval battle, but be careful not to destroy it. Board the ship and deplete the crew's morale, after which you'll get the option to claim the captain's lootbox.

With the tattered treasure map successfully restored, go to Florida in Dry Tortuga. Walk as far north as you can, then dig up the treasure in front of the skeleton.

How to get digested map pieces in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

• Treasure map restoration cost: 200 rum barrels and 500 reales
• Treasure coordinates: (188, 215)
• Reward: The Hunter outfit and the Hunter's Amulet trinket

Collect two digested map pieces by looting white jaguars on Great Inagua. To find this species of jaguar, start at the docks and follow the path south, into the jungle, until you see an abandoned settlement ahead. From there, turn east (stick to the left) and climb onto the wooden ledge.

As there's only one white jaguar on the island, you must wait for it to respawn. Fast-traveling to another region and skipping half a day should do the trick.

With the digested treasure map on hand, go to Santanillas in Chinchorro. Enter the eastern part of the Maya temple from the north (ground floor) and dig in the sandy area inside the cave.
