How to Get Fried Eggs for Ludo in Moonlight Peaks (A New Beginning)
Hamza Haq serves as a writer for the gaming guides and lists department at GameRant, while dabbling in news coverage on the side. Based in Pakistan, he has been writing professionally about games since 2023, though his love for gaming stretches back much further.
A dedicated PC gamer and a firm believer in Keyboard/Mouse supremacy, he will play Tekken with WASD if you let him. Although he considers himself a PC loyalist to the bone, he has a weakness for anything Nintendo. While he mainly enjoys RPGs, he is open to trying new things and exploring different genres, especially indies with cool ideas.
When he’s not bent over a keyboard, he’s reading fantasy novels, discovering obscure podcasts, experimenting with home-brewed coffee concoctions, and trying to convince his dad that his career is, in fact, a real job.
In the “A New Beginning” quest in Moonlight Peaks, Ludo asks players to bring him a Fried Egg so that he has energy to paint the Hendersons' house, a task that Ridge volunteered him for.
However, for players who haven’t engaged with the farming system in this game, getting Eggs and then turning them into Fried Eggs is not a process they will be familiar with.
How to Get Eggs in Moonlight Peaks
In Moonlight Peaks, you can get Eggs by farming Cheekens at a Barn. You’ll have unlocked the Barn in an earlier part of the game’s main story, in the “Farm Animals for Sale” quest, and Cheekens can be purchased from Luna.

To get Cheekens, go to Luna’s farm in the Moonlit Pines (just left of her house) and purchase Cheekens for 1,200 Coins. Luna puts up a set of 3 random animals for sale every night in the fenced yard next to her house, Cheekens being one of the possible animals. If you don’t find Cheekens the first night, sleep and try again the next night.
Once you complete the purchase, give the Cheekens a name and assign them to an empty spot in the Barn. They’ll appear in your base instantly.
Now, the only thing you have to do to get these Cheekens to lay eggs is to fill up their feeding trough with enough Fodder or Premium Fodder to last them a night or two. As long as the Cheekens have enough to eat, there is a chance they’ll lay Eggs inside the Barn.
Both Fodder and Premium Fodder can be made at a Refiner. Fodder requires Fiber, whereas Premium Fodder is obtained by combining regular Fodder with Mana Essence.
Premium Fodder increases the chance your Cheekens will lay Golden Eggs, which is not something you need to worry about for this quest.
After you’ve made the Fodder, enter the Barn and place it inside the feeding station at the very back. The pop-up display will show exactly how long this Fodder will last the animals currently housed in the Barn. You only need enough for one or two nights to get started.
Sleep in your coffin to progress to the next night and check inside the Barn for Eggs. If you find any, simply walk over to them, and your character will automatically pick them up.
How to Make Fried Eggs for Ludo in Moonlight Peaks
Fried Eggs is a dish you can make in Moonlight Peaks using one Egg at any Cooking Station. There is a Cooking Station available by default inside your house, right from the start of the game, but if you want to make another one, you can do so by using 5 Refined Stones and 5 Planks at a Workbench.
To make a Fried Egg, interact with the Cooking Station and select the Fried Egg recipe. A cooking mini-game will start where you have to press Space Bar (PC) or A (Controller) when the white puck is inside the red part of the circle. Do it twice in succession, and one Fried Egg dish will be cooked and placed in your inventory.
Finally, bring this Fried Egg to Ludo, who will be working on the Hendersons’ House to complete this part of the quest.
After you give Ludo the Fried Egg, he will ask you to bring a housewarming gift for the Hendersons as well. Regardless of what you choose for the housewarming gift, the reaction of the recipients will be the same. Unlike the personal gifts in Moonlight Peaks that affect relationships, this is a scripted event that won’t change if you give something valuable. Just give anything that’s in your inventory at the time, and you’ll be good.
