Moonlight Peaks: Soul Blobs Guide
Hamza Haq serves as a writer for the gaming guides and lists department at GameRant, while dabbling in news coverage on the side. Based in Pakistan, he has been writing professionally about games since 2023, though his love for gaming stretches back much further.
A dedicated PC gamer and a firm believer in Keyboard/Mouse supremacy, he will play Tekken with WASD if you let him. Although he considers himself a PC loyalist to the bone, he has a weakness for anything Nintendo. While he mainly enjoys RPGs, he is open to trying new things and exploring different genres, especially indies with cool ideas.
When he’s not bent over a keyboard, he’s reading fantasy novels, discovering obscure podcasts, experimenting with home-brewed coffee concoctions, and trying to convince his dad that his career is, in fact, a real job.
After you unlock the Bug Catching Net in Moonlight Peaks, you’ll get the ability to catch and collect Soul Blobs, the floating skulls that run away when you approach them. There are a total of 100 Soul Blobs that you can collect in the game using the Net, and you’ll get amply rewarded by Death for reaching certain milestones in this collection. Here’s how this works.
How to Catch Soul Blobs in Moonlight Peaks
After completing “The Dinner Party” story quest in Moonlight Peaks, wait a couple of days and enter the town. A cutscene will trigger where Death will approach and give you the Net item, asking you to catch Soul Blobs for him.
To catch a Soul Blob, equip the Net, approach the Soul Blob without spooking it, and swing the Net to catch it. Once captured, the Soul Blob will permanently be considered caught.
Where to Find Soul Blobs in Moonlight Peaks
To catch every single Soul Blob in Moonlight Peaks, you’ll need to unlock certain areas of the map that are locked behind story progression.
For example, certain Soul Blobs can be found in the Twilight Catacombs, while others are located in Luna Bay. You'll only be able to access those Soul Blobs after you gain access to those parts of the map.
Following is a list of areas where you can find and catch Soul Blobs.
- Farm
- Town
- Misty Shores
- Moonlit Pines
- Howling Marshes
- Khazan Temple
- Cave of Echoes
- Crystal Cave
- Museum (unlocks during Curating a Museum quest)
- Lost Moon Alcove (unlocks during A Missing Moon quest)
- Luna Bay (unlocks during A Curious Passage quest)
- Pink Grove (unlocks after you unlock Mermaid form)
- Moonlit Slopes (unlocks after you unlock Bat form)
- Twilight Catacombs (unlocks after you complete 25% Museum completion)
Once you unlock and have access to every single location listed above, you’ll have the ability to catch every single Soul Blob in the game.

All Soul Blob Rewards in Moonlight Peaks
What Do Antique Clocks Do?
There are three Soul Blob collection milestones in Moonlight Peaks: 10, 50, and 100. Each time you reach a milestone, Death visits you the next day and gifts you an Antique Clock, which allows you to extend or shorten the Night Duration in the game settings.
| Soul Blobk | Reward | Effects |
|---|---|---|
| Soul Blob x10 | Antique Clock | Can set Night Duration to 15 or 25 minutes. |
| Soul Blob x50 | Antique Clock | Can set Night Duration to 10, 15, or 25 minutes. |
| Soul Blob x100 | Antique Clock | Can set Night Duration to 10, 12, 15, 20, or 25 minutes. |
It’s important to note that the maximum amount of time you can set the Night Duration to is 25 minutes, which is unlocked as soon as you get the first Antique Clock as a reward for collecting 10 Soul Blobs.
The second Antique Clock allows you to lower the Night Duration to 10 minutes, while the third unlocks the ability to select additional options within the 10-25 minute range. You can never go above 25.
Antique Clocks don't actually need to placed on the ground for the Night Duration extension to take effect; merely having them in your possession is enough.
