Should You Give Kim Space or Not in Moonlight Peaks?
Hamza Haq serves as a writer for the gaming guides and lists department at GameRant, while dabbling in news coverage on the side. Based in Pakistan, he has been writing professionally about games since 2023, though his love for gaming stretches back much further.
A dedicated PC gamer and a firm believer in Keyboard/Mouse supremacy, he will play Tekken with WASD if you let him. Although he considers himself a PC loyalist to the bone, he has a weakness for anything Nintendo. While he mainly enjoys RPGs, he is open to trying new things and exploring different genres, especially indies with cool ideas.
When he’s not bent over a keyboard, he’s reading fantasy novels, discovering obscure podcasts, experimenting with home-brewed coffee concoctions, and trying to convince his dad that his career is, in fact, a real job.
In the “Bride Attendant’s Duty” story quest in Moonlight Peaks, Kim will get cold feet just when she is about to say “I do,” leaving Samael at the altar, the wedding attendants completely in shock.
Here, players will be presented with a choice: chase after Kim or give Kim space. It’s unclear what the consequences for this decision are, and the game does not explicitly state which one you should take, leaving it up to the players to decide. This guide covers the results of both of these decisions and how they impact the story.
Should You Run After Kim or Give Her Space?
The choice of whether or not you should run after Kim has no impact on the progression of the story. Regardless of which option you choose, you will not be able to change Kim’s mind about the wedding. The only thing this decision changes is which cutscene plays out.
If you run after Kim, a cutscene where she explains her decision will play out, but if you remain at the wedding, you’ll see a cutscene where you experience the effect Kim's leaving has had on Samael in the short term instead.
For me, running after Kim is the better choice, and the one that makes more sense. This is because you have spent almost all of the lead-up to this event accompanying Kim and helping her prepare for the event, and seeing the ending through with her makes the story arc feel more complete.
What Happens if You Run After Kim?
If you choose the “Run after Kim” option, a cutscene will play out where you’ll find Kim standing just outside the Town Hall, crying alone. She’ll tell you that she didn’t mean for it to happen like that, and that leaving Samael and disappointing the guests was not her intention.
She’ll tell you that she got swept up in the whirlwind romance and rushed the decision, even though she wasn’t ready. Going through with it now wouldn’t be fair to either her or to Samael, and would only end in unhappiness down the road.
After she has vented, you’ll get the opportunity to console her and say that this decision was likely for the best. Kim and your character will hug, and she’ll leave, saying that she needs a bit of time to think about things.
What Happens if You Give Kim Space?
If you choose the “Give Kim space” option, a cutscene will play out showing the post-wedding scene. You’ll find Samael standing in shock inside the venue after everyone else has left.
He’ll comment that it’s surprising that you’re still here, thanking you for accompanying him. However, he will say that he is still processing what happened and needs time to be alone and think. Elvira will approach and wordlessly hug Samael, and the cutscene will end.
