Palworld recently saw the release of its long-awaited 1.0 update, with patch notes so big they can only be described as monstrous – but with the new content has come new controversy.

Social media is being, well, social media. Amid all of the praise Palworld 1.0 is receiving, there are folks hoping to spur a bit of negativity, apparently – a seemingly never-ending story for the survival game, which has been in the limelight since its early Pokemon comparisons back in 2024.

Recent conversations have caught the eye of head of Pocketpair publishing and communications, John "Bucky" Buckley, though. He reveals as much in a new online post, calling the online chatter out. "The usual suspects out in force on Twitter trying to stir up as much Palworld fuss as they can for $," he warns. "Stay vigilant, gamers. Play games, enjoy your hobby, don't get sucked into manufactured dramas by people posting 50 times a day to make $1."

Bucky signs off with a conclusion I think many of us would agree with: "You can like any game you want!!"

Although the publishing lead doesn't point out what specific "Palworld fuss" he's seen, I've spotted a few, erm, opinionated threads floating about here and there myself recently – but overall, Palworld 1.0 is doing just fine reception-wise.

Heck, the game has seen extremely positive reviews on Steam and massive player numbers. It's safe to say that many fans are enjoying Pocketpair's full launch… and then some.

It's important to note that this isn't the first time Bucky has commented on online "hate," so to speak. Earlier this year, he referred to what he jokingly called "professional Palworld haters" in an interview with us, saying that ultimately, they're "not really" the developers' problem to deal with.

"There's a couple accounts out there that make it their life's mission to, almost daily, go after us," he said. "But at this point, just, who cares?"

That's a good way to think about it, if you ask me – and like I said earlier, Palworld certainly isn't hurting for positive feedback. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a base to go build.

Palworld devs have "a few other little secret things in development" amid plans to "keep expanding" the survival game's universe.
