Pokemon's Next Two Squishmallows Will Be The Collection's First Eeveelutions
Primarily a news writer since 2018, Josh has covered just about every major game from the past decade. Now an editor, their focus has shifted to being the leading affiliate expert at the site, building relationships between TheGamer and global brands including Mattel, Funko, and The Pokemon Company.
Squishmallows remain one of Pokemon’s most exclusive plush clubs. Only six Pokemon are turned into Squishmallows every year, and the collection is still relatively new. That’s why it didn't have a single Eeveelution in it until now.
Umbreon And Espeon Squishmallows Are Coming
The next two Squishmallows have been revealed by the plush brand on Instagram, confirming Umbreon and Espeon will be the first of Eevee’s eight evolved forms to join Pokemon’s Squishmallows family. When the pair will be available to buy hasn’t been shared, but their Pokemon Center-exclusive versions, which release first, will likely go on sale some time over the summer.
Pokemon’s first Squishmallows, Pikachu and Gengar, were released at the end of 2022. Pikachu now has two more designs, while 19 other Pokemon, including Sprigatito, Growlithe, and Chansey, have been added to the collection in the almost four years since those first Squishmallows were shown off.
Even though an Eevee Squishmallow was revealed in 2025, it’s surprising it has taken this long for its Eeveelutions to join it. It’s also surprising that Espeon is one of the first two to make it into the collection, although pairing it up with Umbreon, the most obvious choice for an Eeveelution Squishmallow since it's the best of all eight evolved Eevee forms, does make sense.
Why are you booing? I’m right.
Umbreon and Espeon are the Eeveelutions that best lend themselves to the Squishmallows design, too. Other than their pointy ears, a few extra details for Sylveon, and potentially tails (it’s difficult to tell from the little we’ve been shown), Umbreon and Sylveon’s Squishmallows are just regular round plushes. Turning Jolteon into a Squishmallow, which I’m sure will happen eventually, is going to be a tougher ask.
There Are Now 24 Pokemon Squishmallows To Collect
The additions of Umbreon and Espeon bring Pokemon’s Squishmallows count up to 24. That’s 22 different Pokemon, and two extras for Pikachu, as it has regular, winking, and smiling versions. Even though they tend to be incredibly popular and sell out fast, 13 of the 22 designs, including Raichu and Oshawott, which were the newest reveals until Umbreon and Espeon, are currently in stock.
Espeon and Umbreon will join them soon and, provided Pokemon doesn’t choose this time to increase the MSRP, the new plushes will cost $29.99 each. If you can’t wait, or Umbreon and Espeon aren’t the evolved Eevee you’re looking for, all eight life-size Eeveelution plushes are still in stock. They are significantly more expensive than the Squishmallows will be, though.
