Mahesh Kanchan appointed as Bacardi managing director for India and Southeast Asia
Kanchan succeeds Vinay Golikeri, who has been promoted to regional president for Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) and Global Travel Retail (GTR) after leading the India and Southeast Asia business for more than three years and spending over two decades with Bacardi.
Currently serving as managing director for Southeast Asia, Kanchan brings more than 30 years of experience across the alcoholic beverages and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors. In his new role, he will oversee the day-to-day leadership of Bacardi's India and Southeast Asia operations, with a focus on accelerating growth in one of the company's key strategic markets.
Vinay Golikeri said, "It's been a privilege to lead the India business, and I'm proud of the momentum we've built and the strength of the team. India remains a critical market for Bacardi, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with Mahesh to build on this progress as part of my wider AMEA role."
Mahesh Kanchan said, "I'm excited to take on this role at a time of significant opportunity for Bacardi in India. We have a strong team, clear momentum and a business well positioned for its next phase of growth."
Bacardi said India remains one of its most important global markets, supported by continued investment and strong growth momentum. The company also highlighted India's role as a key talent hub, having produced several senior global leaders, including Bacardi's CEO Mahesh Madhavan.
Bacardi is the world's largest privately held international spirits company, with a portfolio of more than 200 brands, including BACARDÍ rum, GREY GOOSE vodka, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE gin, DEWAR'S Scotch whisky, PATRÓN tequila and MARTINI.
