How to Unlock All Forms in Moonlight Peaks (Cat, Aqua, & Bat)

There are three special forms your character can transform into in Moonlight Peaks: Hellkitten form, Mermaid form (Aqua), and Bat form.

Hellkitten form transforms you into a cat for agile movement, Mermaid form gives you a mermaid tail to swim in water, and Bat form gives you wings and the ability to fly. All of these forms are locked behind the main story progression.

How to Unlock Hellkitten Form in Moonlight Peaks

Cat Form

The Hellkitten form unlocks during “The Dinner Party” story quest, where a drunken fight between Orlock and Brook breaks out in the Ambrosia Mansion, and you get hit by a stray spell cast by Brook, turning you into a Hellkitten.

Once unlocked, you get the ability to freely transform into the Cat form through the forms wheel by pressing Q (PC), LB (Controller), or L (Nintendo Switch).

What Can Hellkitten Form Do?

In the Hellkitten form, you can:

• Move extremely quickly on land, much faster than regular walking.
• Enter certain small holes or crevices, like the Vampster hidey hole in the Cave of Echoes.
• Create farmable land without consuming energy, replicating the function of the Shovel Tool.
• Dig sparkly swirls on land to get items and blueprints.

How to Unlock Mermaid Form in Moonlight Peaks

Aqua Form

The Mermaid form unlocks during the “A Mermaid’s Wish” story quest, where Kim asks Yabbis the frog to brew her a potion that can give her legs so that she can walk on land. When Yabbis brews the potion, he also offers you a sip, allowing you to gain a Mermaid’s Tail and the ability to swim in water.

To unlock this quest, you first have to gain access to Luna Bay by completing the “A Curious Passage” quest, and then repair the bridge connecting the Howling Marsh and Luna Bay regions in the “Ludo’s Plan” quest. After the bridge is repaired, a party will take place on the beach where Samael will propose to Kim, she will say yes, and then request you to find Yabbis to brew the potion, starting the “A Mermaid’s Wish” quest.

To activate the Mermaid form, called Aqua form in-game, approach a body of water and select Aqua form from the radial menu. To return to normal, approach land and either return to human form or select another form from the wheel.

What Can Mermaid Form Do?

In Aqua form, you can:

• Swim in water to access new areas of the map.
• Dive inside the bubbly, sparkly water ripples that sometimes appear in rivers to get items and blueprints.

The new areas of the map you can reach in Mermaid form are the entirety of Luna Bay, the Pink Harbor, and the eastern part of the Cave of Echoes, where you find Gold Ore.

How to Unlock Bat Form in Moonlight Peaks

Bat Form

The Bat form unlocks during the “Master of the Night” story quest, where Orlock takes you under his wing and brews you a potion in a special chalice using a Raspberry or a Cranberry to unlock your Bat form, allowing you to fly.

To trigger the “Master of the Night,” you first have to reach the point in the main story where Saga becomes mayor during the “Elections by Moonlight” quest. Then, you have to restore the Moon during the “A Missing Moon” and “The Moon in the Sky” quests. After that’s done, wait a night or two, and enter the Misty Shores region. A cutscene will play where a drunk Orlock will offer to show you how to turn into a Bat like him and his family.

During this quest, you will have to find three pieces of the broken Chalice for Orlock. The pieces’ locations are:

• Chalice Piece #1: South of the entrance of the Cave of Echoes, behind the tree log.
• Chalice Piece #2: In the graveyard, in the top left corner, next to the large black bell.
• Chalice Piece #3: Southwest of the Moonlight Tower, just below the mushroom circle.

To activate Bat form, select the top option in the forms wheel in any situation. Unlike Mermaid form or Hellkitten form, you can transform into a Bat anywhere, even on the surface of water.

What Can Bat Form Do?

In Bat form, you can:

• Fly on land and water with extremely fast movement.
• Ascend and descend ledges to access new areas of the map.
• Interact with glowing windows in buildings to find items and blueprints.
