Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: What are Anomalies & What Rewards Do They Give
He will play anything as long as it's got something unique and original about it, though he's still yet to dip his toes into multiplayer battle arena games like Dota 2.
In his roles, he has applied the latest tools and workflows for project management, content creation, software development, and corporate risk evaluation.
One of his biggest achievements has been building management-level dashboards and delivering regular data analysis to help keep an organization’s security posture strong and continuously improving. In addition, he has worked with GameRant for over 3 years, authoring nearly 1,000 articles across a wide range of video game genres.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is packed with activities across the Caribbean, from exploring uncharted islands and diving underwater for treasure to taking on powerful legendary ships. As you work through everything the map has to offer, you'll eventually notice a separate tab in the quest log called Anomalies.
These quests are usually quick to complete, but are they actually worth your time? This guide explains what Anomalies are, how they work, and what rewards you get for completing them.
What Are Anomalies and What Rewards Do They Give in AC Black Flag Resynced?
Once you select an Anomaly quest, you can track it using the Pathfinder and sail directly to the marked location. These quests are generally very straightforward and usually involve objectives such as sinking a convoy, purging an entity, eliminating corrupted enemies, or dealing with a specific threat in the area.
The enemies and ships involved in Anomaly quests are always corrupted, which makes them much easier to spot from a distance. This helps separate them from normal ships and enemies while you're sailing around the Caribbean.
Each Anomaly quest also lists its reward before you start it. The reward is called a Data Fragment. Despite the name, Data Fragments are not a normal in-game currency that you can spend on weapons, ship upgrades, or cosmetics directly.
Instead, Data Fragments are used through the Animus tab. Think of them more like experience points for a reward track rather than money. As you collect more Data Fragments, your level on the currently active Animus Project increases, unlocking rewards along that track.
Each project has its own set of rewards, and you can preview them before activating the track. Because of this, it's worth choosing the project that contains rewards you actually want before turning in a large number of Data Fragments.
The Anomaly quests themselves are the same for all players. Once you've completed the currently available set, you'll need to wait for new Anomalies to appear before you can continue farming additional Data Fragments.
So, are they worth doing? If you're interested in progressing through the Animus reward tracks, then yes. The quests are usually quick, easy to complete, and provide a steady source of Data Fragments whenever they refresh.
