Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Reveals Patch Notes for July 16 Update
The latest title update has arrived for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, as Ubisoft fully reveals all the improvements, fixes, and changes being made to the game inside the July 16 patch notes. Despite being one of the worst-kept secrets, as rumors and leaks largely confirmed the game before its official reveal, it hasn't prevented Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced from gaining tons of momentum and ultimately becoming a major success story for Ubisoft.
As one of the most beloved entries in the long-running Assassin's Creed franchise, it seems fans were pretty receptive to experiencing Edward Kenway's story once again. Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced managed to reach a huge milestone at launch, selling 2 million copies in its first day across all three available platforms. It's certainly an impressive number and one that Ubisoft wanted to share, something which the company doesn't always do for each release, commonly using other metrics like shipments or total players to define success. Still, with a huge base of players already, Ubisoft continues to try and improve the experience with new updates.
Title Update 1.0.4 will be available to download at 10am EST on July 16 and attempts to fix a number of bugs, many of which have been previously reported by players. Specifically, one of the more odd issues with the game is with Black Flag Resynced's new dynamic weather system. For some reason, it seems that certain weather patterns have been given more precedence over others, so with this update, Ubisoft has fixed the issue where the weather not only never becomes foggy, but the overall weather balancing system has been adjusted to increase times when it is sunny and clear.
The patch also adjusts a ton of clipping-related issues, with various characters and clothing getting fixed, including texture improvements for some side characters. Bushes that fans have discovered to be "floating" have also been fixed. Ubisoft also indicates that Title Update 1.0.4 makes additional performance and stability improvements, so for those who were experiencing issues while playing, this update could be the solution.
Guess the games from the emojis.
Guess the games from the emojis. Players should also be aware that Title Update 1.0.4 features a number of potential spoilers, as certain in-game quests and combat scenarios have received fixes as well. In fact, some players were running into a complete progression blocker with Black Flag Resynced and "The Observatory" mission, which is a main mission approaching the end of the game. In this sequence, players were supposed to meet up with their full set of allies, though a bug prevented them from appearing, basically causing the game to get stuck.

While the success of Black Flag Resynced has certainly improved things at Ubisoft, it doesn't appear that it'll lead to bigger things, especially for the remained of 2026. Following a restructure and layoffs across Ubisoft, the company confirmed that the release schedule will be light after the launch of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. It seems the final major game launch for Ubisoft in 2026 will be Rayman Legends Retold in October, so for those hoping to see a return for some big name franchise IPs, they'll need to wait for 2027.
