How to Get XP Lobbies in Black Ops 1 (XP Lobby Glitch)
Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 has seen a resurgence of players with the arrival of its PS4 and PS5 ports, allowing players on the current generation of consoles to enjoy the classic title once again. However, with the game launching in its pre-patched state, a ton of glitches and issues have returned, such as an XP lobby glitch that allows players to reach Max Prestige quickly, one that desperately needs to be patched. Here's how to get an XP lobby in Black Ops 1.
This glitch has a number of known issues, including locking players' progression if they begin getting eliminations, and also preventing players from finding lobbies. Proceed with caution. This issue is currently being investigated by Treyarch and will be resolved soon.
How to Find an XP Lobby in Black Ops 1
XP Lobby Black Ops 1 Glitch
Currently, there is a method for players to host an XP lobby for themselves in Black Ops 1. However, doing so requires both the PS4 port of the game, access to a PC, and the means to manipulate the game's files. Hosting an XP lobby yourself can also potentially lock your progression. Therefore, we will not be covering how to host an XP lobby yourself, but instead the best ways to find one.
The first and easiest method is to simply get lucky enough to be put into one with a host that already has the method set up. To do this, simply queue up for a match. Domination and Ground War are currently the two most popular modes for players hosting an XP lobby.
Once you are in a match of Ground War or Domination, do the following:
- Eliminate yourself six times with a Grenade or Semtex.
- Immediately, back out once you hit Level 50.
- Head to Player Card, Prestige Mode, and Enter Prestige.
- Close Black Ops 1 and disconnect your internet as a precaution to ensure the changes stick.
- Rinse and repeat till you reach Max Prestige.

How to Spot and Avoid an XP Lobby in Black Ops 1
XP lobbies in Black Ops 1 are currently affecting other players' experiences, as it often means the lobby gets ended abruptly once other players and the host leaves, not to mention that other players can potentially be deranked or have their progression affected. Until there is a fix, here are the best ways to spot and avoid an XP lobby:
- Look out for Master Prestige ranked players.
- Stay clear of Domination and Ground War playlists.
- Look at the kill feed to see if players are eliminating themselves.
Once you identify an XP lobby and wish to avoid running into any issues, simply back out.
