If you're like me, you've probably already accidentally ruined several packages at Cat Mail Co. Maybe you left them out when they belonged in the freezer, or maybe you had a misstep near the boat and fell right into the water. Whatever the reason, you likely have a growing stack of damaged packages that recipients will soon pick up.

Unfortunately, while you can repair these damaged packages, you won't be able to do so for some time. In the meantime, you'll need to find a spot to hold your damaged packages until you gain access to the Repair Workshop. Additionally, once you have access, you can still only repair three packages per day.

How To Unlock The Repair Workshop

By now, you should have a pretty clear understanding of what can damage a package. There are a few random ways to damage them, such as dropping them in the water, but more often, packages will become damaged if not placed in the appropriate rooms.

You can determine the room a package belongs in by using the scanner to identify any special requirements, such as going into the freezer. If it is not in that space before the day is over, it will become damaged. You can also damage packages by placing a heavy package on top of other packages or placing any package on top of a fragile one.

Unless you're being as careful as possible, and even then, you're bound to end up with at least one or two damaged packages by the time you unlock the repair room. While you're waiting to unlock the room, recipients may still come and request these packages, but for now, decline them and send them off. They'll come back again later.

You can tell that a package has been damaged if it appears wet, as if it has water damage, and has markings on it. Be sure to check the boat's return box for damaged packages there as well.

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to speed up when the Repair Workshop will be unlocked, as it's just part of the game's natural progression. For reference, I unlocked the room shortly after taking care of 100 recipients.

That said, there is something you can do to slow down the process, and it has to do with the large pile of packages near the scanner. Each day, there will be several packages in this pile you can pick up and sort. As you continue this process each day, the pile will slowly shrink, similarly to the pile in the Freezer, which you may have already cleared. If you ignore it, the pile will never shrink.

Even if you don't physically see a box to grab from the mail pile, scan the pile to see if the mouse icon changes to the pick-up package icon. Some boxes occasionally spawn completely under the pile, but can still be picked up if you see the icon.

Once the pile has been shrunk to a sufficient size over the course of several days, it will reveal a doorway leading to a small room. This is the Repair Workshop, and inside, you'll find a couple of shelf units and a workbench.

How To Repair Damaged Packages

If you have any damaged packages, you can bring them all in here to free up some room in the main area. On the workbench, you'll see three unfolded cardboard boxes and an open space to set down a package. To repair a package, set the damaged package on the workbench and click on one of the unfolded boxes.

When you do this, the damaged box will be swapped out with a new one, meaning the package is repaired. You can complete this process for up to three damaged packages each day.

Once you repair them, do not forget to move them to the rooms they belong in and ensure they have the proper labels and stamps for shipping or storing. Otherwise, they'll just become damaged again.

This room can be used at any time, as long as you have not already done your allotted number of repairs. As mentioned, you have limited supplies, so don't take advantage of the repair room by being more careless. This should be a last resort when needed.
