Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, the long-awaited remake of Ubisoft's open-world pirate game, is finally here, and with a slew of positive reviews and guides on ship upgrades and loot chests making the rounds, it's easy to forget there isn't a whole lot on the company's release slate in the immediate future. We've got Rayman Legends Retold coming in October, and there's a bunch of upcoming Ubisoft games without firm release dates, but Ubisoft diehards looking for their next fix might want to drop anchor and soak in the vibes for a while.
In Ubisoft's latest financial report, the company itself admits it's going into a relative period of quiet after Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, saying a "lighter new release slate" will be followed by "stronger releases in fiscal year 2027-2028," which runs April 1, 2027 to March 31, 2028.
"Beyond fiscal year 2026-27 the Group expects a significantly bigger content pipeline over fiscal year 2027-28 and fiscal year 2028-29 across its major brands including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Ghost Recon," reads Ubisoft's report.
Ubisoft also says its live service operations will see an "acceleration" which, combined with "this stronger release schedule," a "refocused portfolio" and "continued reduction of its fixed cost base," there will be "an important rebound with a return to positive free cash flow."
While Ubisoft clarifies that it has "premium games based on established Ubisoft brands that will be announced at a later date," we're not entirely going off guess work here. We know the next mainline game in the Assassin's Creed series is codenamed Hexe, and it's a "darker," witchy adventure set "during a pivotal moment in history." We also know about the mobile-exclusive Assassin's Creed Jade, and then of course there's Beyond Good and Evil 2 and, presumably, Far Cry 7 at some point... hopefully.
