How To Get Panthalus in Palworld
Tracking down every new Pal in Palworld 1.0 can be a challenge, especially when some species only appear in specific regions or under certain conditions. Panthalus is one of those Pals that players won't come across by accident, making it important to know exactly where to look before setting out.
Whether the goal is expanding the Paldeck or strengthening your base (since Panthalus is one of the best Pals to counter Raids), Panthalus is well worth the effort. Plus, you need this particular Pal to reach the World Tree, the highly anticipated endgame zone introduced with the full release. This guide explains how to get Panthalus in Palworld 1.0, including the best strategy to beat it and whether it can be farmed or not.
Where to Find and Catch Panthalus in Palworld 1.0
The process to find and catch Panthalus in Palworld 1.0 starts by finding four Ancient Bones located at the huge Skeletal Remains distributed in various locations of the Palpagos Islands. After that, players need to start a mission by finding a particular NPC named "Ancient Civilization Researcher," who is stranded on the Deserted Island, located north of the Windswept Dunes.
Here's what you need to do:
- Talk to the Ancient Civilization Researcher on the Deserted Islet
- Find the Marine Echobone, located in the giant whale skeleton on the shores west of the Hill of Beginnings
- Find the Silent Echobone, located at the mouth of the giant whale skeleton at the Jormuntide Boss Spawn, south of the Altar of the Windcaller.
- Find the Seafom Echobone, located east of the Eternal Pyre Tower, also inside the skeleton of a giant whale, but this one is located on the shores of a lava pit instead of the sea.
- Find the Tidewind Echobone, located at the northern peaks of the Astral Mountains, in the frozen lake inside the Land of Absolute Zero area.
- Return to the Ancient Civilization Researcher and obtain the Faded Schematic
- Go back to your base and craft the Echoing Flute.
- Now, prepare to begin the Panthalus Raid, and go back to the Deserted Islet to start the battle.
Just in case, we will do a step-by-step overview of how to find, battle, and obtain Panthalus in Palworld.
How to Find the Deserted Islet in Palworld

To reach the Deserted Island in Palworld, travel to the Twilight Dunes (there's a Teleporter near Anubis Spawn), then head north with a flying mount.
The Islet will soon be visible in front of you, and all you need to do is land near the glowing monument to find the Ancient Civilization Researcher. Talk to him and start the Panthalus Main Quest.
How to Find the Marine Echobone in Palworld
Go to Grassy Behemoth Hills, then traverse the shoreline until you see the giant skeletal remains of a whale Pal. Use a mount or swim to reach the bones, then climb the head to claim the Marine Echobone.
How to Find the Silent Echobone in Palworld
Teleport to the Altar of the Windcaller, northeast of Mossanda Forest, then look for the Jormuntide Boss spawn. Pick a mount, then ride it to reach the whale bone. Pick up the shiny golden object inside the skeleton to obtain the Silent Echobone.
How to Find the Seafom Echobone in Palworld
Travel to the Volcanic Biome (aka Mount Obsidian), then, search for the Scorched Obsidian Watchtower. Look below to find another gigantic Skeleton. Get inside the skeleton and pick up the Seafom Echobone from within.
How to Find the Tidewind Echobone in Palworld
Travel to the Land of Absolute Zero, or use the teleport to reach there, then look for the Forgotten Mineshaft (frozen Lake). The last whale skeleton is there, and players can pick up the Tidewind Echobone from it.
How To Summon and Defeat Panthalus in Palworld

With the four bones in your possession, return to the Ancient Civilization Researcher in the Deserted Islet, then he will give you the Faded Schematic. Go back to your base to craft the Echoing Flute using the four bone fragments.
Panthalus is a Water Pal, so bring Electric-type Pals to cause more damage to it. It is highly recommended that players bring various flying Pals, like Shadowbeak, Jetragon, Beakon, or Helzephyr Lux to the battle. Also: Make sure to have Pals with decent Passive Skills and a powerful weapon like the Rocket Launcher, as Panthalus has over 350 K HP, so be ready for a tough fight.
The battle will have three phases. During the first phase, Panthalus will tackle the players with its huge body and release homing bubbles. Players cannot dodge most of the bubbles, unless they use a fast flying mount.
In the meantime, they should try to hit the Jewel in Panthalus' head, since it's the weak point of this huge beast and they will do increased damage by targeting it.
What's That Weapon?
Identify the silhouettes before time runs out.
Identify the silhouettes before time runs out. The second phase begins when Panthalus dives, and a whirlpool will appear at the feet of the player. Use the air currents to jump and glide to avoid receiving damage.
The third phase is similar to the second phase, but Panthalus will rise in the air and summon a huge wave. The only way to avoid certain death is to use the air currents or a flying mount to rise above the wave.
Once players have reduced Panthalus to 0 HP, a red circle will appear on it. They need to target it with any Pal Sphere to catch it. As Panthalus is a Story bound Pal, and is required to access the World Tree, there's always a 100% catch rate for it.
Panthalus cannot be used for breeding under any circumstances. If you see Panthalus appearing in a breeding calculator formula, it might be wrong information, since the game doesn't allow Panthalus to be assigned to the Ranch. It will always be soaring above the base and bombarding approaching enemies, or watering the Plantations from above.
